Fight Osteoporosis With More Than A Glass Of Milk

Osteoporosis is something that most people know about, but usually don’t understand very well. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that occurs when the body loses too much bone, or cannot make enough bone. As a result, bones become weak and can break or fracture, in some cases from something as minor as a sneeze or cough.

Viewed under a microscope, healthy bone looks like a honeycomb. When a bone is affected by osteoporosis, holes start taking up more space, which weakens density and mass, thus creating an overall weaker structure.

Your bones are in a constant state of renewal throughout your life. This means that there are precautions you can take to prevent bone loss as well as lifestyle changes you can make to slow down the process later in life.

During this Osteoporosis Email Series, it’s our goal to provide you with the knowledge and support you need to make better health decisions that can contribute to a longer, stronger, and overall better quality of life.
